The Riruta Ndararua Stadium is the only standard football ground in the whole of Dagoretti South and a beehive of activity on a daily basis,it is where top action football matches are played including Leagues,Tournaments and training.
Various tournaments that have taken place since last year included the annual Dagoretti Cup sponsored by betting firm Sportpesa that saw 24 teams battle it out for a Ksh 100,000/ cash prize.
It witnessed the biggest crowd ever due to the calibre of players playing for their Estate teams, with the likes of Zambian based Jesse Were playing for Kibera Olympic Team, which were the pre tournament favourites other stars included a galaxy of the Kenya Premier League, Edwin Lavasta,Denis Oliech, just to mention a few. However it was MWAT FC from Dagoretti Corner led by Denis Oliech who emerged overall winners .
The Stadium are also hosting the Nairobi Governers Cup sponsored by the Nairobi Governer Dr Evans Kidero who attended some of the matches a week ago.
However there is a big appeal from Dagoretti residents to their Member of Parliament to allocate funds for the upgrading and renovation of the Stadium to International Standards ,currently it is bumpy and dusty and needs a lot of work to ensure that the only stadium in this area renowned for producing many International Players from Dagoretti .If a proper upgrade is done then we shall be able to watch top class league matches here and also the venue will bring in income through hire for other activities
